- Does Joru send my trip data to the cloud?
- No. The AI model that reads your travel form and writes your itinerary runs on your own phone, so your prompts, preferences, plans, budget and notes never reach an AI provider. Joru does use the internet for maps, places and weather — the privacy policy lists every service it contacts.
- Where does the AI actually run?
- On your phone's own hardware. Joru ships with a language model small enough to run on a modern phone, and that model reads your trip form, arranges the day and writes the guide locally. There is no AI provider on the other end, which is also why there is nothing to meter.
- Do I need an account to plan a trip?
- No. You can open Joru and start planning immediately — no sign-up, no email address, no card. An account only comes into play if you choose to sync your trips to your own Google Drive or iCloud, which is encrypted and entirely optional.
- What data does leave my phone?
- Only what a map needs: a place name or a map area, sent to look up real places, map tiles and weather. Your travel form, your itineraries, your budget and your notes are not part of that. The privacy policy names every service and what it receives.
- Is Joru free to use?
- Yes. Planning a trip is free and needs no account: one destination, trips of up to three days, real places and weather, a day-by-day itinerary you can edit, a budget estimate, an interactive map, a packing list and export to PDF, Markdown or your calendar.
- How many itineraries can I generate?
- As many as you want, on both Free and Premium. There are no credits, no tokens and no monthly allowance, because a plan costs nobody anything to run when the model is on your own device. Redo a day, change the pace or rebuild the whole trip as often as you like.
- What does Premium add?
- Trips longer than three days, several destinations in one trip, transport between cities, day trips you choose, a budget broken down by category, concrete restaurants filtered by cuisine, diet and price, and encrypted sync to your own Google Drive or iCloud. Generation stays unlimited on both.
- Is there a one-time purchase instead of a subscription?
- Yes. Premium is available either as a monthly plan or as a single payment with no renewals, which covers Premium for as long as Joru stays commercially available and supported. Running no AI servers is what makes a one-time price possible at all.
- Where do the places in my itinerary come from?
- From open data, not from the model's memory. Places and coordinates come from OpenStreetMap, area guides from Wikivoyage and forecasts from Open-Meteo. The model chooses among places that already exist and arranges them — every stop in your plan existed before the model said a word.
- Does Joru work without an internet connection?
- Not entirely, and it does not claim to. The AI part is fully local, but Joru needs the internet to look up real places, map tiles and weather forecasts. What never travels is the part people worry about: your prompt and your plan.
- How accurate are the budgets and opening times?
- The order of your stops and the budget arithmetic are computed by the app rather than improvised by the model, so the same trip always gives the same route and the same figures. Prices and opening times are still estimates drawn from open data — check them before you travel or spend.
- Can I edit a plan or regenerate part of it?
- Yes, and it costs nothing to do so. The day-by-day itinerary is editable, and you can regenerate a single day or the entire trip as many times as you want. Nothing is deducted, because there is no cloud service charging for each plan.
- How is Joru different from cloud AI trip planners?
- Cloud planners send your prompts to a server and pay for every generation, then pass that cost on as credits, tokens or a subscription. Joru runs the model on your device, so there is nothing to meter and nothing to send. It also computes budgets and routes instead of letting the model guess them.
- Which devices does Joru run on?
- Android and iOS. It is free to download from Google Play and the App Store, and you can start planning without creating an account. On Android a plan keeps generating even if you close the app, and you are notified when it is ready.
